The Campaign for the
University of Minnesota Libraries

Ways To Give

The University of Minnesota has embarked on a campaign to set a new course for students, the state, and the world. Through Driven: The University of Minnesota Campaign, we will join forces with our philanthropic partners and friends to raise $18 million for the Libraries as part of the University’s overall campaign.

Advancing Knowledge, Enriching Lives

As part of the University of Minnesota’s Driven campaign, the University Libraries is building on its award-winning mission of advancing knowledge and enriching lives. Together, with our donors and friends, we will elevate our capacity to serve our faculty and students, Minnesota, and our global community.

Your investment in the University Libraries helps us to:

Advance leadership and innovation at the Libraries to create and enhance programs and services that directly benefit our faculty and students.
Enrich the lives of our students by expanding our nationally recognized Student Success programs and services, while creating a student internship program that will provide our student employees with leadership tools and critical-thinking skills.
Advance research and scholarship by creating research assistantships for our graduate students, developing “knowledge innovation hubs” in our libraries, and offering faculty support through a new digital scholarship program.
Enrich the lives of all our users through investments in our collections and content services, including acquisition and support for distinctive collections, digitization, conservation, and the creation of endowed curatorial positions.

In 2017, the University of Minnesota Libraries received the National Medal for Museum and Library Service, the nation’s highest honor given to museums and libraries for service to the community. We are only the third academic library ever to win the Medal in the program’s 23-year history — a testament to our innovative work in supporting a diverse and expansive set of communities.

Through this campaign, we have chosen to build on our strengths, and we ask you to join us in Advancing Knowledge and Enriching Lives for those on our campuses, for residents throughout the cities and townships of Minnesota, and for scholars around the globe.
